Nocturnes for solo piano. Gabriel Faure was born in 1845 in Pamiers, and died in Passy (originally a commune; annexed to Paris in 1860) in 1924 (he is buried in Passy Cemetery, where Claude Debussy, Jacques Ibert, and Edouard Manet were also interred). His Nocturnes were composed from the 1880s to the 1920s, spanning practically his entire creative career.
